Directors' Choice Showcase 2024

May 22nd - August 4th, 2024

Each year, the DAAPworks event highlights the creative output of the graduating class from the top-ranked College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning at the University of Cincinnati.

The Directors’ Choice Award specifically highlights the outstanding capstone projects, first presented as a part of SAAPworks. Projects best demonstrating exceptional knowledge, creativity, and skill that has been applied to a focused idea and most effectively communicated by visual means are selected.

Each year the directors from the four schools within DAAP and the Director of DAAP Galleries act as judges, reviewing the project submissions from all of the school programs. The directors take into consideration the recommendations they are provided by the faculty that work with these students daily. However, the directors may select any project they deem worthy. After much deliberation, a consensus is reached. In the event the directors have a split decision, the galleries’ director has been charged with the duty of breaking ties to make the final selections of Directors’ Choice Award winners for that academic year.
