Steve Peck

Peck is an Executive Creative Director at Pinterest, leading a multidisciplinary creative team responsible for campaigns, brand design, digital marketing, and storytelling content across North America and in global markets.
Throughout his career, Steve has created renowned work that defines brands and connects them meaningfully to culture. He’s led teams and campaigns at ad agencies including BBH, Anomaly, R/GA, Wieden+Kennedy, and Droga5 and has worked directly with in-house creative teams at Apple, Meta, Squarespace, Spotify, and Chobani. At Creative Artists Agency in Los Angeles, he built branded content and entertainment platforms with some of the top celebrities and creators in film, television, and sports.
In 2011, Steve created Google’s first ever national tv campaign and global advertising campaign, including the “Dear Sophie” commercial that was named Time Magazine’s #1 Commercial of the Year.
Over the course of his career, Steve has earned top honors at every major global award show, including Cannes Lions, D&AD, the One Show, Clios, ANDY Awards, Webbys, Effies, AICP, and ADC. He was also ranked the #3 most-awarded art director in the world in 2011 by Creativity Magazine. Steve’s work has also been named to Time’s 100 Most Influential People, archived in MOMA’s permanent collection, and turned into Harvard Business School Case Studies.
Stan Herman
Stan Herman gave an in-person lecture at DAAP on September 12, 2024 that was recorded.
Herman, a 1950 graduate of UC's top-ranked College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP), pioneered the designer uniform, with clients including FedEx, McDonalds, Amtrak, Avis, TWA, United Airlines and Jet Blue. He was President of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), from 1991 until 2006.
His new book Uncross Your Legs: A Life in Fashion, Herman reflects on a remarkable life and career, from his childhood in Brooklyn, NY and Passaic, NJ, to WWII Army service in Europe, and back to NYC as a young freelance designer in the fashion hothouse of the Garment District, and beyond.
Jeffrey Bell
Jeffrey Bell gave an in-person lecture at DAAP on February 12, 2024 that was recorded.
He is a showrunner, writer, director and executive producer. He began his television career writing for The X-Files. On the series, Angel, he was promoted to executive producer and showrunner. This role continued on several network series including Alias, Day Break, and the murder mystery, Harper’s Island. Most recently, Bell was an executive producer and showrunner for seven seasons of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. He was also an executive producer on the Emmy nominated mini-series, Slingshot. Bell has taught screenwriting in the UCLA MFA Producers Program. Jeffrey is a University of Cincinnati Communication Design (1982) alumnus.
