2.0 Kinds of Funny

February 2nd - April 6th, 2025

Reception: Thursday, April 3rd, 5-7pm

An Exhibition of Humorous Art with works contained in one cubic foot boxes.

This new iteration of the eponymous exhibition reveals the multitude of ways humor is leveraged in art, a decade since the original show. The origin of 2.0 Kinds of Funny exhibition occurred in 2012 with an exhibition called “Two Kinds of Funny” hosted by DAAP galleries and traveled to 3 other venues in 2013. 42 artists have agreed to participate in the 2025 exhibition.

2.0 Kinds of Funny presents the possibilities when we stop being polite and start getting real; what happens when we engage with the calculus of tragedy + time = comedy. We offer the product of what happens when artists oil up our overly developed critical thinking muscles for the posedown of human experience in its full splendor. Humor can be a bridge, equalizer, magnifying glass, scalpel, weapon, truth serum, and a map of our values, fears, and desires. What is it for you? Come, tell us something funny. We can all use the laugh.
