Why study Pre-Art and Design Education Licensure?

This program prepares teachers to apply for state licensure in art and design education. The coursework, practicums, and student teaching hours all comply with state license criteria and has for decades at UC.

Admission Requirements

Students may be considered for admission to the Pre-Art & Design Education Licensure Certificate program if they are: 

  • A current University of Cincinnati student enrolled in a baccalaureate degree and have at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average in at least 30 credit hours of previous college work. 

  • A student not currently pursuing a degree at the University of Cincinnati, they may declare this certificate after establishing non-matriculated status. Non-matriculated students must have earned a baccalaureate degree. 

  • Given permission by the Pre-Art and Design Education Licensure Certificate Director, Kristopher Holland (kristopher.holland@uc.edu). 

To apply, students should fill out the Declare a Certificate application.
