Microsoft Office 365

  • To download Microsoft Office 365, complete the following steps:
    • Log into your UC email at mail.uc.edu.
    • In the top left-hand corner, select the 3 by 3 grid.
    • Click on the Microsoft 365 icon.
    • Download the applications to your computer.
  • For help, visit the Digital Technology Solutions page.

Adobe Creative Cloud

  • Common applications for DAAP majors include Acrobat, Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
  • Use your UC email for educational pricing.
  • We recommend waiting until the fall semester to purchase this because it is a subscription. Your instructors will tell you when to purchase this in the fall semester.
  • Review your major specific software requirements on the Computers and Supplies page.

Recommended Accessories

  • In addition to your computer, we recommend purchasing the following accessories:
    • External three-button mouse
    • Security cable or lock for your laptop
    • Protective case or backpack
    • External hard drive (1 terabyte or larger)
    • USB flash drive (8 gigabytes or larger)

Computer Insurance

  • Most computers have 3-to-5-year warranties and allow you to add additional insurance.
  • Laptop repairs can be costly, so make sure you have the coverage you need.
  • For accidental insurance, Apple has AppleCare+ and Dell has Pro Support with accidental coverage.
