Selective Methods of Planning Analysis
Rainer vom Hofe & Xinhao Wang
Professors Xinhao Wang and Rainer vom Hofe released their planning methods book in 2007. A synthesis of some of the foremost important methods used by practitioners (demographic analysis, economic analysis, land use analysis, and transportation analysis), the book holds a ground of its own. It is easy to understand for the novice planner but also provides the senior planning professional with the right amount of depth to do their day-to-day analytical work. Professors Wang and vom Hofe are currently writing a new edition of their popular methods textbook. They are using updated data and applying new insights to standard planning methods. In addition, they are including a completely new chapter on financial analysis. As the planning profession continues to evolve, the demands towards planning analytical methods keep changing as well. The current book project addresses these changes in the planning profession. The new and updated book will be published by Springer and Tsinghua University Press and is planned to hit the market in 2020.
