At Full Scale
In this studio, graduate architecture students adopted a turn-of-the-century derelict building in Over the Rhine and explored potential futures that addressed the material history and spatial opportunities for this condition, which is common in OTR.
The work produced here is speculative, and operates at the intimate scale of the architectural detail rather than at the scale of the building. The design and construction of these projects were simultaneous, creating a “feedback loop;” a unique phenomenon of learning through making that is predicated on the direct and critical engagement with the materials and techniques of construction. Products included a concrete tile wall, a light wall and a systems wall assembly.
