Vision trumps everything. Organizations are most effective when a well-articulated and ambitious vision of the future exists.
Dr. Nancy L. Zimpher, President, University of Cincinnati
The exponential growth in digital technologies is challenging the status quo of the university mission. Conventional methods for generating and disseminating knowledge in the digital age are fast becoming ineffective as the tsunami of electronically equipped students enter the university.

How should the university transform in order to capitalize on the creative and collaborative opportunities afforded by this new environment? The Vision 2020 conference offers an opportunity for leaders in the field to share their experiences and help navigate the uncharted waters of what it means to be a digital campus.
Teamwork is the ability to work as a group toward a common vision.
- We encourage institutions and departments to send teams of 3 or more to get the most out of the conference. Teams receive a substantial discount if they register before July 11.

To energize the discourse, the Keynote Speaker on the first day will be the Honorable Mr. Angus King Jr. As former governor of Maine, Angus King developed a program to provide a laptop computer to every seventh and eighth grade student in the state, regardless of location or family income, aimed at making Maine's students the most computer literate in the world. How will the campus of the future embrace these "digital natives" as they set foot on campuses around the country?

Co-Keynote speakers Dr. Larry Johnson, CEO of The New Media Consortium and Mr. Chad Wick, CEO of KnowledgeWorks Foundation will begin Thursday's discourse. Dr. Johnson and Mr. Wick routinely bring visionaries and thought leaders from across the globe together to define and explore new ways of thinking about and using technology, and to examine emerging trends and issues. Together, they will help to bring into focus the trends that are, and will continue to shape the future of higher education in the digital era.
In conjunction with the conference, the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center and Apple are co-sponsoring a student video contest. Follow the link below for more information about the contest.
