Degree Requirements

Students are required to spend 12 credit hours in Graduate Design Seminars, 12 credit hours in Graduate Design Studios, 8 credit hours in Graduate Design Colloquiums, 4 credit hours in Research Methods, 4 credit hours in a Thesis Seminar, at least 16 thesis research credit hours, and at least 16 additional credit hours in elective course work and studios at the graduate level.

The student must also successfully complete a thesis which is a major project of research and/or creative work that extends our knowledge and awareness in the design fields. The main product may be an extensive written document, an exhibit of two-dimensional and three-dimensional visual material, a video, an interactive or multimedia piece, or another appropriate format.

Minimum total credit hours required for graduation is 72.
