Undergraduate Electronic Arts

Merging art and technology, undergraduate students in Electronic Arts explore creative applications of computer animation and interactive art. The program also provides an understanding of the role media plays in our culture. Students in the area can produce both animation and interactive projects. This program uses the DAAP Computer Graphics Center, a continually developing multi-platform facility designed for the creation of computer generated work.

In the Electronic Arts area, classroom demonstrations are combined with individualized instruction from faculty members. Introductory students take classes that are designed for the initial development of technical skills along with the development of the individual's thinking about Electronic Art. Advanced students create portfolio projects, developing concepts and techniques of their own choosing. Advanced projects can extend over several quarters.
