Admission Information
Applicants for admission to the Master of Arts in Art Education program are normally expected to have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a cumulative 3.0 grade point average in art and education work. The following items are required for evaluation by the School of Art Graduate Admissions Committee:
- a completed University Application Form with application fee
- a completed Supplementary Information Form
- a completed Departmental Application Form
- official academic transcripts of all college, university and/or art school work including all undergraduate credit and graduate credit if applying as a transfer student
- results from the Miller Analogies Test
- 3 letters of recommendation from former professors or others qualified to judge the applicant's academic potential and ability to work successfully at the graduate level. These should also be from those who are able to judge the applicant's past experience in relevant activities
- an essay that includes an intellectual biography, educational objectives, qualifications for admission to graduate study in Art Education and reasons for applying to the program at the University of Cincinnati
- examples of articles, papers, slides or videotapes showing creative work produced in previous study
- international applicants must score 600 on the Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL)
Application Deadline
The application deadline is February 1 of each year, to begin studies the following September.
