School of Design Scholarships

Thanks to the generosity of numerous alumni and friends of the college, scholarships are available to students in the School of Design.

Deadline dates and application materials will vary for each scholarship. Please review thoroughly the information links below to learn the requirements of those scholarships which pertain to you. The deadline for most scholarships is March 15.

Submitting FAFSA information is highly recommended for those scholarships that consider financial need.

Katie Aring Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is was established in memory of DAAP alumna Kate Aring. more

E. Mildred Breen Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is available exclusively to those entering the third year of study (pre-junior) in Fashion Design. more

Lois Lynn Budde Scholarship and Educational Travel Fund

The family established this scholarship in honor of Lois Lynn Budde Dougherty who died from AIDS at a very early age.  With this award, the family wishes to make visible to students the consequences of AIDS – a largely preventable disease, affecting all segments of the population, including heterosexual women. more

Evelyn G. and Charles L. Burgoyne Scholarship Fund

This renewable scholarship is to support a student majoring in fashion design.  Students will continue to receive the scholarship each year provided they continue to remain a student in good academic standing in Fashion. more

Bob Clark Scholarship

A scholarship has been created in honor of Bob Clark , who generously advised the donor as she established a business designed to benefit America's Wildland Firefighters. The donor wishes to acknowledge Mr. Clark's contribution by making this award available to a student in DAAP, from which his son graduated. Students in the third or pre-junior year of programs in the School of Design and School of Art are eligible for this $1,000 award. To be considered, students must be in good standing and have demonstrated financial need. more

Frances D. and Stanley Cohen Scholarship Fund

The Frances D. and Stanley Cohen Scholarships are awarded to students of good character who have shown enthusiasm, a desire to succeed in their fields, a consistently strong academic record, and financial need. more

Richard and Jean Coyne Family Foundation Scholarship Fund

This scholarship fund was established to provide scholarships support for Graphic Design students in financial need.  Special consideration is given to students in under-represented college populations. more

Ellen Garner Memorial Scholarship

The Ellen Garner Memorial Scholarship was established to provide meaningful scholarship support for a pre-junior student in the fashion design program in the School of Design. more

Graphic Communication Design First-Year Scholarship

The scholarship is presented to an outstanding student entering the Graphic Communication Design program. Scholarships are based on a combination of financial need and academic record, with emphasis on financial need. more

Kelly Kolar & David Eyman Scholarship

he Kelly Kolar & David Eyman Scholarship was established to provide meaningful scholarship support students in the School of Design. more

Macy's Scholarships Endowment in Memory of Rudolph V. Javosky

Macy's, Inc., has made scholarships available to students enrolled in Digital, Fashion, Graphic Design, Architecture, and Interior Design. These funds have been given to encourage students to consider retail design careers. more

Madison Design Group Scholarship

This scholarship is to support an incoming freshman student studying in Graphic Communication Design of the highest academic caliber. more

Diane Naegel Scholarship

This scholarship is established in the memory of Diane Naegel. more

Jay Ott Endowed Memorial Scholarship

The purpose of the Jay Ott Memorial Scholarship is to reward students who demonstrate the values most important to Jay. Jay was a lifelong learner with acute self-awareness who knew at an early age that he would become a fashion designer. more

Institute of Packaging Professionals Scholarship

The Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP) is proud to offer  academic scholarships to recognize exceptional college students headed for a career in packaging. more

Robert Probst Scholarship

The Robert Probst Scholarship was created to provide financial assistance to students in the Graphic Communication Design program at the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning. more

Elise L. Sambur Memorial Scholarship

Scholarships are awarded annually to one or more outstanding seniors in Industrial Design, as determined by the faculty on the basis of past performance and need. more

This scholarship it to support students in the School of Design. more

Martha Steinkamp Sherman Quasi-Endowment Scholarship

 This endowed scholarship was established in memory of Martha Steinkamp Sherman and is to be used to support a fashion design student. more

Erwin S. and Rose F. Wolfson Fellowship

This fellowship is to support a graduate student studying in environmental design towards a part of their degree in Masters of Science, Masters of Design, or Masters of Community Planning. more

External scholarships are not affiliated with DAAP, but offer scholarship opportunities for design students.

Hyde Park Art Show Scholarship

The Hyde Park Square Art Show awards a $2,500 Scholarship Award that will be applied to the recipient’s senior year fall term tuition. Information about this scholarship typically is published in the Spring.

Three Arts Scholarship Fund

Various scholarships sponsored by the Three Arts Scholarship Fund, Inc. are available for junior and senior women in DAAP who exhibit exceptional talent. Information about this scholarship typically is published in the Spring. Scholarship strives to support aspiring leaders in the graphic design community by providing them with the tools and knowledge to get the best education possible. more
