Professor Hancock has taught architectural history and theory in the College since 1978. He directed the postprofessional Master of Science in Architecture Program from the late 1980's until 2002, After terms as the College's Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies, and Director of the Master of Architecture Program, he has returned to full time teaching. He regularly teaches courses in recent architectural history, graduate architectural theory and design, and advanced research writing. He is the author of many national and international publications, presentations, grants, and awards on topics in architectural history and interpretation. He is a co-founder of CERHAS (The Center for the Electronic Reconstruction of Historical and Archaeological Sites), where he currently directs production of "The Ancient Ohio Trail" project, a multi-media, interactive production on the architecture of the ancient Ohio Valley, and its tourism contexts. He currently helps lead the efforts to have several of Ohio's earthworks inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Notable awards include large grants from the Ohio Board of Regents and the National Endowment for the Humanities, and three wins at the Columbus International Film and Video Festival.
