Michael McInturf

Professor McInturf is the current Chair of the Design Topic Group within the School of Architecture and Interior Design. He is one of four faculty members that will be advising the Thesis Program in the new Master's of Architecture curriculum beginning Fall of 2002. Additionally, his current seminar focus is on critical issues of practice. Recently, he has become a member of the Design Review Committee for the University's extensive signature building program. Professor McInturf has professionally worked in the office of Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill. In 1988, he joined the office of Peter Eisenman in New York, where he became an Associate in 1991. He was Project Architect for the Aronoff Center for Design and Art - selected for the 1991 Venice Biennale and a winner of a 1993 Progressive Architecture Award - and participated in the design of the Wexner Center for the Visual Arts at Ohio State University. Michael McInturf ARCHITECTS was established in 1995. This research-based building practice collaborates digitally with a number of other architects, prompting his receipt of the 2000 DAAP Award for Outstanding Research and Creative Work. His completed buildings have received significant acclaim in both exhibitions and publications worldwide including the Deutsches Architektur Museum in Frankfurt, Germany, the Cooper-Hewitt Museum in New York, and several articles in both Architecture Magazine and The New York Times. In 1997, he and his collaborators received another Progressive Architecture Award and most recently, Michael McInturf ARCHITECTS was one of twenty firms featured in a book entitled All American.
