Charles Ellison is a professor in the School of Planning at the University of Cincinnati. He has earned masters and doctorate degrees in Political Science. Ellison served as Director of the School of Planning from 1992-1997. Professor Ellison has been the recipient of Fulbright, American Council of Learned Societies, and National Endowment for the Humanities awards. He was a Fulbright senior research fellow in Italy. Ellison teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses. These include Understanding the Urban Environment and Organization Theory, Social Justice and the City, Planning Ethics, Planning Studio, as well as courses in Politics and Sociology. Most of his teaching has been in undergraduate courses. Ellison also serves as an instructor for undergraduate capstone courses and as committee chairperson and reviewer for senior projects. Professor Ellison's work has appeared in the Journal of Urban Affairs, Cities, Social Policy, Review of Politics, History of Political Thought, and Political Theory. Professor Ellison has served as a consultant on several development projects in Ohio towns.
