Each MCP student formulates a concentration during his or her two years in the program, and this concentration can be designed to address specific interests or future career plans. While concentrations are not required by the program, the following represent five traditional approaches that a student might take:

• Economic Development
• Environmental Planning
• International Development
• Physical Planning
• Urban Design

The courses to match these concentrations will be selected by the student with the advice of the Graduate Program Director and the student's faculty adviser. Students may also elect a to select courses based on certificate programs in Historic Preservation, Urban Design or Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
