Students are required to earn 60 credit hours in Graduate Design Studies, including: 18 credit hours in Design Studies seminars and studio classes, 15 credit hours in Research labs and Scholarship colloquia, 12 credit hours in electives such as master classes or professional assignments, and 15 credit hours in thesis development.
The student must also successfully complete a thesis which is a major project of research and/or creative work that extends our knowledge and awareness in the design fields. The main product may be an extensive written document, or a smaller written document that accompanies an exhibit of two-dimensional or three-dimensional visual material such as: a video, an interactive or multimedia piece, or another appropriate format.
Minimum total credit hours required for graduation is 60.
