Professional Practice
Professional practice is a cornerstone of both the ArtHistory MA program and in related graduate programs, including the Museum Studies certificate. Students have the option of earning a Museum Studies Certificate and drawing upon the rich museum culture in Cincinnati. Students also have the option of earning a certificate in Historic Preservation with additional coursework.The program sponsors the Art History guest lecture series, in tandem with the School of Art Visiting Artists and Scholars series, which features well-known art historians and museum professionals with local, regional, and national reputations. Recent speakers in the School of Art Series have been Pamela Thomas (2008), Julia Andrews (2007), Kymberly Pinder (2007), Toby Kamps (2006), Linda Shearer (2006), Wouter Davidts (2006) and Stephanie Dickey (2006).
Assistantships
We offer teaching assistantships and graduate assistantships in the DAAP Library and the DAAP Galleries. These are merit-based and are renewable for one year.
