Advising

What is academic advising?

Academic advising is a process in which students and academic advisors work together in order to achieve the student’s educational and personal goals. Typically in individual meetings, the student and the advisor collaborate to create a broad understanding of program/major requirements and university and DAAP policies and procedures, as well as to develop course schedules in order to fulfill degree requirements and student interests. Academic advisors can also identify additional campus and community resources as needed to enhance the student’s tenure, both personally and academically, at UC.

Who is my advisor?

The academic advisors in the DAAP Student Affairs office (5470 Aronoff) serve as your primary point of contact for academic and personal questions. They serve as a key component within your personal support system, working with you towards a successful and fulfilling program at UC.

Academic advisors are assigned to students based on academic area. You can schedulde an appointment with your advisor by using the Starfish application on Blackboard or by calling DAAP Student Affairs at 513-556-1376.

Where can I find my curriculum?

Visit the DAAP Forms page to find the most up-to-date advising sheet for your major. Select your school, then select advising sheets, and choose the year that you began in DAAP to find the advising sheet with your curriculum. To track your progress and see how your credits are being applied toward your degree requirements, log in to Catalyst and check your degree audit (found under the “My Academics” tab / academic requirements).
